Westgate SuperContest Week 2 Recap

We no longer have any undefeated entries in the SuperContest. However, while only 9 entries went 5-0 in week 1, a whopping 86 entries went undefeated this week, including "Lap Band of Brothers" one of the entires that made no selections in the opening weekend. Back in the mix, guys, keep grinding.

A new feature of the SuperContest is the 1st quarter and 1st half bonuses.  This really emphasizes each quarter of the season, when also considering the usual end of season mini-contest.   It's a great move in my opinion to spread out some more cash throughout the year.  While entries generally don't go wire to wire, it allows a couple people to secure positive return before the leaves start falling.

There are now 3 teams tied for 1st place with 9 points each, Biosoft Global, PHD Sports, and The Ville.  The top 5 consensus (Ten, Pit, GB, NE, Dal) went 3-2 after going 0-5 last week.  The field had a winning week overall, averaging 2.56 wins, but remains below .500 through 2 weeks at .456.  You can see the full standings HERE.

Both ProMathletics' entries, which picked the same selections, went 4-1.  We are now 2 points off the lead and currently tied for 72nd place.  We are positioned perfectly to go 10-0 the next two weeks and snag that 1st quarter bonus.  Our selections were (Jac, Pit, Bal, SF, DET).

You can see the dispersion of all the entries below.  43% of all entries now have between 4-5 points, inclusive.  This is pretty typical of distribution we have seen in the past.  A rather normal curve, with a slight negative skew.
