Westgate SuperContest Week 12 Recap

This turned out to be a classic SuperContest week. The field averaged 2.46 wins, which is where we expect the field to ultimately finish (slightly below 50%). We all have just 25 picks left and the payout threshold is right around 63%. We still expect that number to dip a little further to about 60%. We anticipate another below average week from the field as it is still out performing where we expect on the season.

@PIGSKIN_JUNKIES (45) is now way out in front of the pack, with a 2.5 point lead on the field. TEAM CLEVELAND 1, PERSONAL GOURMET, and C SQUARED are all tied for 2nd place with 42.5 points.

On the season, the field is averaging 2.58 points per week (51.6%) which is still slightly better than where we expect the field to finish.  The top 5 consensus (NE, NYG, PIT, GB, CAR) went 2-3 for the third straight week.  The top 5 picks are now 33-27 through twelve weeks.

The ProMathletics team continued our hedging strategy this week. We submitted 10 entries with our "real" picks and 8 with a straight hedge.  Our picks for the week were CHI, WAS, ATL, NYJ, and CIN.  We went 1-4. However, our hedged entries went 4-1. We now stand at 37-21-2 (63.8%) after twelve weeks and have 38 points in the contest.

You can see the dispersion of all the entries below. 31.5 points is now the most common entry score.  After twelve weeks, the average contest entry has about 2.58 points per week.
