Westgate SuperContest Week 10 Recap

The contest came back to reality this week after posting the highest win rate of the season in week 9.  Overall, the contest posted just 2.2 points per entry, which translates to 44%.  Biosoft Sports, with 34.5 points (69%), is now in sole possession of 1st place, with Grannys Boy and Biosoft Global (34) now sharing 2nd place.  There are currently 10 entries within 10 points of 1st place.

The top 5 consensus  (Buf, Jax, Was, Lar, NYJ) went 1-4.  1,182 entries picked the Bills over the now Super Bowl contender New Orleans Saints.  The top picks are now 18-32 (36%) on the season.  Overall, the contest now sits at 48%.  We still feel pretty good about our prediction for the winning number being at 56 points, which would be about 66%.  You can see the full standings HERE.

Both ProMathletics' entries, which picked the same selections, went 2-3 after 2 crushing taunting penalties from the Jaguars limited their margin to only 3.   Our selections were (TB, Jax, GB, Dal, Den). We definitely underestimated the impact of Tyron Smith's absence on Dallas's ability to protect Dak/the Cowboy coaching staff's ability to make any in-game adjustments. We now have 30 points and are tied for 68th place.  That puts us at 60% and definitely still in the mix.

You can see the dispersion of all the entries below.  The contest now has a negative skew around the average of 23.8 points.  There is a group out ahead of the pack, with 10 entries owning between 32.5 and 34.5 points.
