Wednesday Night MACtion

MACtion is back and we have a couple entertainment picks for those of you that are itching for some action on a cold Wednesday night.

Buffalo @ Ohio (-2.5)

The Buffalo Bulls come into this game 9-1 and 6-0 in the MAC. For them to be the dogs seems crazy and you would think they would be the play. Not so fast, my friend. We are taking the Bobcats at home. Ohio’s 4 game win streak came to an end last week as they lost a heart breaker to Miami in a 30-28 thriller. But they still have the superior QB in this matchup. Nathan Rourke basically IS this Bobcat offense, registering a 19/5 TD/INT ratio and rushing for 653 yards, good for second on the team. UB’s Tyree Jackson has been impressive this season, but we have seen his yards per attempt and completion percentage drop considerably. The Ohio defense has been ragged on by critics all season, but they have yet to allow 30 points in a MAC contest this year and should come up with a couple turnovers tonight. Nothing is easy in the MAC and the Bobcats are going to spoil Buffalo's run.

Miami (OH) (+7) @ Northern Illinois

Northern Illinois would be the comfortable play here as they are 7-3 and undefeated in the MAC. They beat Toledo last week 38-18, but keep in mind, they were outgained 431- 427 and turned the ball over 2 times. The Redhawks have a very balanced attack with QB Gus Ragland and RB Alonzo Smith. Ragland has accounted for 21 TDs 16 in the air and 5 on the ground, while throwing just 4 interceptions. The Huskies’ strength is on defense. However, they are giving up 21 points per game and have faced few offenses that can move the ball as the Redhawks do. If Miami takes care of the ball they will stick around and keep this game within a TD.
