NFL Week 15 Monday Night Football - Saints at Panthers Prediction

With three games remaining in the regular season for the Saints and Panthers, tonight's Monday Night Football matchup is a very meaningful game in the NFC South for both teams.  The Saints have already clinched the divisional race and earned their ticket to the post-season dance, but are playing for important seeding implications.  Do you think the Saints would rather travel to potentially Chicago for a playoff game in January, or have the #1 seed and get to play every game in their very friendly dome?  To think they are going to pack it in is crazy.

The Panthers, on the other hand, are looking for a miracle three-week stretch to get to 9-7, but also need quite a bit of help from the handful of teams standing between them and the 2nd Wildcard slot.  We get all of this out of the way to cover the important variable that can sometimes be lacking during the final couple weeks of the NFL season: motivation.

Our models see this as a 4.5 to 5.5-point game which puts it in our YellowZone.  The Saints are the better team and have been trending better than the Panthers, but who hasn't.  The Panthers have now lost 5 games in a row, including losses to the Bucs, Browns, and Lions who are all below .500.  For the Panthers to suddenly right the ship against the 11-2 Saints would be an impressive momentum changer.  We aren't confident in the Panthers ability to do so and therefore have no reason to back a very slim system value play.  We are steering clear of this one all the way and suggest you do the same.
