NCAAB - Tennessee at LSU
College Basketball – SEC Matchup
#5 Tennessee @ #13 LSU
Tip – 12 pm
Market Line – Tennessee -1.5
Promathletics Lean – LSU +1.5
We start a huge College basketball Saturday with a 12 pm tip between (24-2) Tennessee Volunteers and (21-5) LSU Tigers. UT currently sits atop of the SEC at 12-1, as both UK and LSU are 1-game back. The Tigers will need to pull out the win today if they want a shot at winning the regular season title. Something they have not done since 2009.
Tennessee has been very good all year. They have loss to Kansas on a neutral site and loss to a white-hot Kentucky team at Rupp Arena, where the Volunteers only shot 28%. UT is led by forward, Grant Williams, and guard, Admiral Schofield. This is a very experienced team that has an average team experience of 2.2 years.
LSU has an average team experience of .6 years. Last time we wrote about LSU they went to Kentucky and upset the Wildcats. In that game the Tigers showed their athleticism and up-tempo play. They loss at home on Wednesday to Florida in OT. It seemed the Tigers over looked the Gators on Wednesday as Coach Will Wade’s young team was focused on todays game.
The spread opened with this as a pick’em and has since moved to UT -1.5. Our model has this at UT -1, so basically no value either way. Taking the experienced Tennessee team would be the comfortable thing to do, but we lean taking a very athletic Tiger team that will be ready to defend home court and shake things up atop the conference standings.
