NCAAB - #7 Michigan @ #9 Michigan State

College Basketball – Battle for the Big 10 Title

#7 Michigan at #9 Michigan State

Tip– 8pm

Line – MSU -3.5

ProMathletics Lean – Michigan +3.5

The Big 10 could not have dialed up a better ending to the season than what we got today. Currently there is a 3-way tie at the top of the standings with Purdue, Michigan, and Michigan State all tied at 15-4. Purdue should easily beat Northwestern today at 2:30 and will get a share of the title. However, its either Michigan or Michigan State getting to share that title with them. The 7th ranked Michigan Wolverines (26-4) head an hour up the road to face the #9 Michigan State Spartans (24-6). This will be the battle of the Big Ten’s best defense (Michigan) and offense (Michigan State).

Michigan has won 4 of their last 5 games. Their most recent dub came last Sunday. They went to #17 Maryland and beat them 69 (nice) – 62. The Wolverines have been led by Freshman forward, Ignas Brazdeikis all year. Ignas leads all scorers averaging 14.8 ppg. The Wolverines give up 58.3 ppg which is good for 3rd in the nation. They don’t foul and don’t turn the ball over, which is a great recipe for success.

Tom Izzo’s Spartans have won 6 of their last 7 games, as they defeated Nebraska on Tuesday 91-76. Cassius Winston leads the team in scoring averaging 18.8 ppg. The team can stroke it from downtown as they average 38.5% from beyond the arc. The Spartans have been without Junior forward, Nick Ward, since mid-February. Ward was averaging 15.1 ppg.

The line for this game opened with MSU -4 and has since moved to -3.5. Our models lean Sparty, but Nick Ward is still baked into that calculation. There is no real value and for that reason this is not a recommended Greenzone game. However, how can you not bet this game? If you are looking for the action, we recommend taking Michigan and the 3.5 points. This is going to be a great game with both teams fighting for a title and the points are too much not to take.
