The last week of regular season College basketball is upon us, which means March Madness is near. Our last regular season Super Tuesday write-up will be the (22-6) Virginia Tech Hokies at (23-6) Florida State Seminoles. Both teams are currently tied in 4th place in the ACC and most likely this game will decide who will be slated behind UVA, UNC, and Duke in the ACC final standings.
The Hokies had to regroup as a team when they loss Senior Guard, Justin Robinson. Robinson was not only a veteran leader for the Hokies but also a double-digit scoring threat. Since his injury, which happened January 30th, the Hokies have gone 5-3 and have won 4 of their last 5 games. Their most recent victory was last Tuesday as they knocked off a Zion-less Duke team 77-72. Sophomore guard, Nickeil Alexander-Walker leads the team in scoring, as he averages 16.4 ppg. They shoot the 3-ball particularly well as a team. They are 9th in the nation shooting 39.7% from down town.
The home team, Florida State, is red hot. The Seminoles have now won 9 of their last 10 games, with their lone loss at UNC. They beat NC State Saturday at home, 78-73. This will be their 3rd straight home game. Sophomore forward, Mfiondu Kabengele, leads all scores, averaging 13.2 ppg.
This game opened at FSU -4 and as this morning sits at FSU -4.5. Our models have this game at FSU -1. It is tough to go against the hot home team in this one, but hey, value is value. At 4.5 this is a true Greenzone game, value you have to bet. Take the points and the away dog and enjoy what should be a great game.
