Promathletics Pick – Lean ChC -125

Starting Pitchers:

ChC – (R) Adbert Alzolay

Pit – (R) Trevor Williams

Tonight, will be the last Monday night baseball game before the All-Star break. That’s right we are about halfway through the MLB season. We get an NL Central clash tonight in Pittsburgh. The 1st place Cubs head to Pittsburgh to take on the 4th place Pirates. The Reds took 2 of 3 from the Cubs over the weekend and the Pirates loss 2 of 3 in Milwaukee.

The Cubs will be throwing the young righty, Adbert Alzolay. Alzolay is coming off his 1st MLB start where he went 4.2 innings, struck out 4, and walked 4. Alzolay has a very high strikeout ability but free passes seem to come just as frequently. The Cubs offense had a nice little first half. They have a 103 wRC+ and are led by Javier Baez. Baez leads the team with 20 homeruns and 56 rbis.

Trevor Williams will take the mound at home tonight. Williams is 2-2 with a 4.25 era through 65.2 innings. Williams is a low K, low BB, mid-4 era pitcher. The Pirates offense has a 94 wRC+ and the club is enjoying a breakout from 1b, Josh Bell. Bell has 22 homeruns, 70 rbis, and .301 avg. The hot slugger has cooled down as of late and is only hitting .130 his last 7 games.

Not a very sexy pitching matchup tonight so enjoy some offensive production. The market has the Cubs as favorites on the road and we agree. However, the value has moved out of the Greenzone territory and is now just a lean. Below you will see that being a Promathletics subscriber and betting our Greenzone games has been a great investment. If you are looking to receive all of our valued picks CLICK HERE.
