College Basketball - Texas Tech vs Kansas
College Basketball Big 12 Match-up
#16 Texas Tech @ #11 Kansas
Location – Allen Fieldhouse, Lawrence, KS
Line – KU -4.5
We got another huge slate of College basketball games on the eve of Superbowl Sunday. At 4pm on CBS #16 Texas Tech (17-4) will take on #11 Kansas (16-5). Texas Tech heads to Kansas on a 2-game winning streak where they beat TCU 84-65 last Monday. KU is riding a 2-game losing streak as they have lost back to back road games to Kentucky and Texas. The Jayhawks are 1-5 in true road games this year. Lucky for them and Coach Bill Self, they get the Red Raiders at home where they are 11-0.
This game will feature two of the best players in the Big 12. Junior, Dedric Lawson, for Kansas is second in scoring, averaging 19.2 pts/gm. Sophomore guard, Jarrett Culver, for Texas Tech is third in scoring averaging 18.5 pts/gm.
No doubt the loss of Center, Udoka Azubuike, for Kansas is still being felt. Coach Self stated this week that he has implemented a few wrinkles in the offense this week in hopes to get Lawson better looks. As bad as the Jayhawks have been on the road, we like them breaking the 2-game losing streak at home. What we don’t like, is them having to cover 4.5 points. Our models think this should KU -3.81, which gives Texas Tech .69 pts of value (nice!). We can’t recommend the Red Raiders as a Greenzone pick, but with .69 pts of value we 100% lean Texas Tech.
