College Basketball Super Tuesday - LSU vs UK
College Basketball – Super Tuesday
#19 LSU @ #5 Kentucky
Location – Rupp Arena, Lexington, Ky
Time – 7pm
Line – UK -8.5
We are back with some SUPER Tuesday action. #19 LSU Tigers invade Rupp Arena, as they take on #5 ranked Kentucky Wildcats. The fans in Lexington should expect a high-flying show tonight. Both LSU and Kentucky are two of the most athletic teams in the nation.
LSU (19-4) has won 12 of their last 13 games. They beat Auburn on Saturday 83-78 while only shooting 38%. The Tigers are led by Tremont Jones and Naz Reid. They are averaging 15.7 and 13.9 ppg respectively. As a team they are top 20 in points per game (83.3), but (T-231st) in points allowed by opponents. They also have a +5.6-rebound margin. LSU is very athletic and likes to get up and down the floor to take advantage of that.
The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off their 10th straight win, as they beat Mississippi St Saturday, 71-67. Both PJ Washington and Keldon Johnson are averaging about 14 ppg. The team is averaging 78.7 ppg and allowing 65.2 ppg (39th). As good as LSU’s rebound margin is, the Wildcats have a +9.8-rebound margin.
This should be a very fun game to watch as both teams will look to get up and down the court. The line opened with UK favored by 9.5 but has since declined to 8.5. Our models have this at UK favored by 8.38, so no value to be had. However, if you are looking for action we lean with the points. We like the Tigers athleticism to be able to stick around with the Wildcats.
