College Basketball - Louisville vs Virginia Tech
College Basketball ACCtion
#15 Louisville @ #12 Virginia Tech
Location – Cassell Coliseum, Blacksburg, VA
Line – Va Tech -3.5
Basketball is now front in center, as the football season came to an end last night. We get the week started with a top 15 ACC match-up between #15 Louisville at #12 Virginia Tech. The Cardinals saw a 6-game win streak come to an end as they got beat by UNC, 79-69 on Saturday. The Hokies have started their own streak, as they have now won 3 straight, including a dominant performance over NC State on Saturday. A combination of great defense and poor shooting, Va Tech held NC State to 24 pts. NCST shot 16.7% from the field and 7.1% from three. They will be tested tonight, Louisville led by, Jordan Nwora, is averaging 79.6 ppg. Second year coach, Chris Mack, an early favorite for ACC coach of the year, has this Cardinal team playing like a pre-scandal Rick Pitno Louisville team. The Hokies are playing just as well, they are led by, Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Nickeil is averaging 17.5 ppg and the team is scoring 78.8 ppg.
The big concern for Va Tech is the injury to point guard, Justin Robinson. Robinson missed the NC State game and was seen in a boot on the sideline. The Hokies struggled early with turnovers against NCST before settling in the second half. We will see how well they adjust as a team tonight. The line currently sits at Va Tech -3.5. Our model has this at Va Tech -6. Not enough value for a Greenzone, but we would lean the Hokies, even without Robinson.
