Monday night baseball stays in the west coast back to back weeks as the Rockies head to San Fran to take on the Giants. The Rockies are coming off a 3-game sweep as they lost 3 straight to the Dodgers (3 walk-offs) and the Giants took 2 of 3 from the Diamondbacks over the weekend.
We are back in action tonight with 3 valued ProMathletics picks that went out to subscribers earlier today. Unfortunately, this prime time ESPN game does not fall far enough in our positive expected value threshold to warrant a true play. If you can find the Astros around -125...which, ya can't at this point, it would be worth taking, but -140 is a little too close to our intrinsic line money line of -150 to back it.
The NBA finals pushed Monday night baseball to tonight on ESPN. The fans of New York get two games today as the series opener yesterday between the Mets and the Yankees was rained out and they will play a double header today. The home team, Yankees, look to get back to winning as they have loss 5 of their last 7 games. The Mets on the other hand took 2 of 3 versus the Rockies over the weekend and look to make a push in the NL east where they currently sit 3rd.
Happy MLB draft day! Very small slate of games today, but ESPN will be covering the Houston Astros who travel to Seattle to battle the Mariners. The Astros who have 3 of their best players on the IL have not wavered. They are 40-20 and swept the Oakland A’s last weekend. The Mariners have been a complete disaster of late. They are 3-17 their last 20 games. Let's hope the month of June is more kind to them.
Wednesday night baseball gives us the last game of a 3 games series between the NL Central’s best team, Chicago Cubs, and the AL Central’s best team, the Houston Astros. The Astros are going for the 3-game sweep as they have won the first two games. The Cubbies have loss 5 of their last 6 games and look to get a win streak going tonight.
There weren't any nationally televised games last night due to the scheduling conflict with the NBA Playoff game on ESPN. The old saying "good things come to those who wait" is true tonight, as we get a double-header on ESPN to make up for the lack of baseball on Monday. We have 3 valued plays today that went out to subscribers earlier
This line was around -140 in favor of the home team Braves at the start of the day and our system still had them as a valued play at that level. The fact that this one has come all the way down to -120 at time of publishing is a gift from the baseball wagering gods.
ESPN is televising another Philadelphia Phillies Monday night baseball game. Last Monday the Phillies were on the road in St. Louis and tonight they are at home, against the Brewers. Last week we went against the Phillies as we did not trust VV on the bump and we were rewarded nicely. Tonight, we are on them as they throw out their Ace, Aaron Nola. The Brewers will be throwing the young hurler, Freddy Peralta. Peralta will be making his 4th start after dealing with a shoulder issue to start the year.
The NL East 1st place, Philadelphia Phillies, head to St Louis to take on the NL Central 2nd place team, St Louis Cardinals. The Phillies are coming off a long home stand and recently took 2 of 3 against the Nationals. The Cards come home after getting swept in Chicago this past weekend. The Cardinals will get their ace on the bump tonight and look to start a new winning streak.
The post-World Series woes continue for the Boston Redsox as they host the Oakland A’s on Monday night. The former Champions of the World are coming off a 2-game sweep and sitting 6 games below .500 (11-17). The A’s head to Boston after the Blue Jays swept them for the second time this year. Oakland is 14-16 and sitting 4th in the AL West.
