Whewww...this was NOT the start the Red Sox or Yankees were looking to get out to in 2019 after having won 108 and 100 regular season games respectively last year. The combined record that is 8 games under .500 is a cold splash of water into the face of each fan-base with World Series aspirations, but the good news is they still each have over 140 games to position themselves for another post-season run. We have two valued picks for subscribing customers today,
After winning 4 straight the Reds winning streak came to an end last night, as they got beat by the Cardinals 9-5. Former Dodger, Yasiel Puig, finally got on the board with his 1st home run. He will look to keep a hot bat as his new team heads west to face his old squad in a 3-game series. The Dodgers finally ended a six-game losing streak last night as they beat the Brewers 7-1. Clayton Kershaw makes his season debut tonight. Kershaw dealt with some shoulder inflammation this spring that shut him down for a couple of weeks.
This is a big match-up late in the year that isn't likely going to change seeding in the grand scheme of things, but it is an important mental victory for whichever team pulls out the W. Steph Curry has publicly stated he thinks this game is an opportunity to send a message. That is not unrelated to the fact that the Rockets are 3-0 against the Warriors this year and would make it a clean 4-0 season sweep if the 4-point road dog Warriors don't get the upset.
The Big 10 could not have dialed up a better ending to the season than what we got today. Currently there is a 3-way tie at the top of the standings with Purdue, Michigan, and Michigan State all tied at 15-4. Purdue should easily beat Northwestern today at 2:30 and will get a share of the title. However, its either Michigan or Michigan State getting to share that title with them. The 7th ranked Michigan Wolverines (26-4) head an hour up the road to face the #9 Michigan State Spartans (24-6). This will be the battle of the Big Ten’s best defense (Michigan) and offense (Michigan State).
We know, we know, we know... the sky is falling in Los Angeles, LeBron is washed up and doesn't care, Luke Walton is a lame duck head coach, it's all over for the Lakers in 2019 and they probably won't win another game. That mutual understanding aside, let's take a deeper look at the late matchup tonight on ESPN with the Denver Nuggets as 5.5-point road favorites against the Los Angeles LeBrons.
The last week of regular season College basketball is upon us, which means March Madness is near. Our last regular season Super Tuesday write-up will be the (22-6) Virginia Tech Hokies at (23-6) Florida State Seminoles.
