We are back! The college football season finally kicks off this Saturday in what we are calling week 0, as week 1 will start the following Thursday with the rest of the college world starting their seasons.
We typically do not like to bet on Over/Under total wins for the NFL because we suspect it may cloud our judgement when evaluating who to take on a week to week basis. However, we have found that there is some value in analyzing the Vegas numbers versus our internal numbers.
Another GREAT weekend for our MLB subscribers. Saturday and Sunday, we went a perfect 6-0! On the year we are 190-140 (57.6%) and up a ridiculous 76.04 units (*to win 2 units per wager). If you are not a subscriber and want to finish the baseball season winning, click here.
When it comes to validation of historical performance in the gambling world, it is a Joe vs Joe pissing contest 90% of the time. Unlike the regulated markets of equities and securities, there is no way to track an individual managers performance. People consistently ask us to send historical performance and we do, but it seems to never be enough for all the critics. In a display of documented and proven performance by way of The Las Vegas SuperContest we will lay out exactly what you would have returned based on using just our 5 weekly SuperContest picks from 2018
We have a great match-up tonight in Cleveland, as the 3rd place AL East, Boston Red Sox, take on the AL Centrals T-1st, Cleveland Indians. The Indians who are tied with the Twins, made a statement over the weekend as they took 3 of 4 from Minnesota. The Red Sox split with the Angels, losing the last 2 of the series.
After missing a week of Monday night baseball, we are back tonight as the A’s head to the windy city to take on the Cubbies. The A’s are hot, winners of 6 of their last 7 games, they find themselves .5 games back of the AL wildcard. They took 2 from Stl in a 2-game series which helped propel the Cubs into 1st place in a tight NL central. The Cubs have helped themselves as well. They have won 5 of their last 7 and swept the Brewers over the weekend and stand 1.5 games in front of the Cardinals.
Monday night baseball gives us a big AL East divisional game. Both the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays are in the hunt for a wildcard spot. The Rays are one game out and the Sox are 3. Both teams are coming off terrible series as both lost 2 of 3 to 2 non-playoff teams.
After beating the Redsox last night on Sunday night baseball the Dodgers get another prime-time game as they stay on the east coast and take on the Philadelphia Phillies. The 3rdplace NL east Phillies are looking to take one from the 1stplace NL west Dodgers as they are coming off losing 2 of 3 at home versus the Nationals.
Tonight, will be the last Monday night baseball game before the All-Star game. That’s right we are about halfway through the MLB season. We get an NL Central clash tonight in Pittsburgh. The 1st place Cubs head to Pittsburgh to take on the 4th place Pirates. The Reds took 2 of 3 from the Cubs over the weekend and the Pirates loss 2 of 3 in Milwaukee.
Monday night baseball stays in the west coast back to back weeks as the Rockies head to San Fran to take on the Giants. The Rockies are coming off a 3-game sweep as they lost 3 straight to the Dodgers (3 walk-offs) and the Giants took 2 of 3 from the Diamondbacks over the weekend.
We are back in action tonight with 3 valued ProMathletics picks that went out to subscribers earlier today. Unfortunately, this prime time ESPN game does not fall far enough in our positive expected value threshold to warrant a true play. If you can find the Astros around -125...which, ya can't at this point, it would be worth taking, but -140 is a little too close to our intrinsic line money line of -150 to back it.
